Band-specific conditions
- Satellite access (NTN); requires a satellite-capable configuration and the applicable regional conditions.
Channel reference ranges
| Direction | Raster / condition | First channel | Step | Last channel |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| downlink | 100 kHz | 436000 | 20 | 440000 |
| downlink | 10 kHz (enhanced) | 436000 | 2 | 440000 |
| uplink | 100 kHz | 400000 | 20 | 404000 |
| uplink | 10 kHz (enhanced) | 400000 | 2 | 404000 |
Inclusive endpoints describe the reference grid. A usable carrier must also satisfy bandwidth, edge clearance, subcarrier spacing, synchronization raster, equipment and band-specific requirements. Enhanced rasters require corresponding support. Allocation edges are not automatically usable centre frequencies.
Worked downlink conversion
NR-ARFCN 438000 maps to 2190 MHz.
F_REF = F_offset + ΔF_global × (N_REF − N_offset). Below 3000 MHz use (0 MHz, 5 kHz, 0); from 3000 MHz use (3000 MHz, 15 kHz, 600000); from 24250.08 MHz use (24250.08 MHz, 60 kHz, 2016667). The band raster is an additional constraint on that global grid.

Electrical length and propagation example
At 2190 MHz, the free-space wavelength is 13.689 cm, the half-wave length is 6.845 cm and the quarter-wave length is 3.422 cm. Free-space path loss over 1 km is 99.257 dB.
These are reference calculations, not an antenna cut length or coverage prediction. Add feeder losses, antenna gains and propagation effects in the full link budget. A band match does not identify an operator or grant permission to transmit.
Sources and version
3GPP TS 38.101-5 V19.5.0 (Release 19, August 2026), tables 5.2.2-1, 5.2.3-1 and 5.4.2.3-1 through 5.4.2.3-3. Dataset 3gpp-rel19-2026-10-01; checked 2026-10-01. This page records that specification version rather than implying support in every device or country.
Bands with overlapping allocations
At least one corresponding uplink or downlink range overlaps; this does not imply equipment compatibility.
